I just got back from a three-day tour of Cairo and I'd like to share my thoughts with anyone who is planning a similar trip. A private tour that I booked through a local business called Go Luxor Tours really made a difference for me. When I got to the airport, someone was already there to greet me, and from there on, everything went smoothly. On the first day, we went to Old Cairo and the Egyptian Museum. Our guide, who was an Egyptologist, was very experienced and patient, and he even helped us avoid some of the most common tourist traps. The pyramids, the Sphinx, a camel ride, and a picture stop with a view of the desert made up the second day. Saqqara and Memphis were also on the list. Those places were much less busy but just as interesting. On the third day, we took a felucca ride on the Nile and had a lot of free time to walk around the Khan el-Khalili market.
