Hi all - we're three weeks out now from going to Bali from Ireland for our honeymoon.

My wife and I (both 30) are going to Bali 7-24 June 2024 - we will spend 16 days in bali and 4 nights in Dubai, flying with emirates, total trip about 3 weeks including travel.

This is our first time to Bali.

This is our plan at present -

Accom One - 4 nights in Canggu @ Zin Canggu (£1,025 GBP or 20m IDR)

Accom Two - 3 nights in Ubud @ 11 on Kajeng (£590 GBP or 12m IDR)

Accom Three - 5nights on Gili Trawangan @ Kardia Resort (£725 GBP or 15m IDR)

Accom Four - 4 nights in Jimbaran @ Mango Tree Villa (£600 GBP or 12m IDR)

Places we overlooked but were very close to choosing:
Seminyak (still considering changing to this from Canggu)

We like to stay within walking distance to plenty of choice of restaurants and bars for evening entertainment, but not party scene, both physically fit and don’t mind walking, but don’t want to be in a remote area with nothing happening.

We are going to Dubai for 4 nights after Bali so we will get all of that luxury scene there!

We are there to relax but don’t care so much about beaches we prefer pools, coastal views mean more than being in built up areas, we arent so much into cities

I am probably more inclined to stay in luxury resort hotels but my wife is attracted to the luxury villas Bali has to offer , I just feel the atmosphere would be a bit quiet .

Just for context , we cannot afford to stay in the very high end Bali 5 stars but some of the cheaper ones. In GBP - anything over £250 per night would be expensive for us (5m IDR).

I am planning to take a night from Gili T & add it onto Ubud.

The main thing I am concerned about is if we are overpaying for our accom and could maybe have another look at it?

no that's fine - thank you for piece of mind!

Yes i'm very much on the fence right now about changing Canggu to Seminyak... most people seem to say it would be better suited for us. However Zin Canggu looks amazing and the reviews are really really good.

We will also be in Jimbaran for the last part of the trip which happens to be my wifes 30th birthday! so hoping to do something special..

I will probably ride a scooter, although I’ve heard the taxi / (gojek is it?) is very good or hiring a driver

Grab is the other transport app. It is a Singapore based company. Be aware though, they are banned in some areas like Canggu and Ubud, by the so called 'taxi mafia'.
