I understand the situation is difficult now with the ongoing conflict, but I would like to know the current situation and if any travel to Iran is currently possible.

Flights to and from Iran are mostly suspended due to the ongoing conflict. Iran's Civil Aviation Organization has closed the country's airspace until further notice, suspending all domestic and international flights to protect passenger safety.

Many major airlines have canceled or suspended their services to Iran:

  • Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines have canceled flights to Iran until at least June 16-19.
  • Lufthansa has halted all flights to Tehran and is avoiding Iranian airspace.
  • Emirates and Qatar Airways have temporarily canceled flights to Iran, with Emirates suspending flights until June 30.
  • Flydubai, Air France, KLM, and several other carriers have also suspended or rerouted flights that would normally fly over or to Iran.
  • Iran's Imam Khomeini International Airport and Tehran Mehrabad Airport have halted inbound and outbound flights.
  • Neighboring countries such as Iraq, Jordan, and Syria have closed their airspace, further complicating flight routes to Iran
It's currently possible to enter Iran by land, but only through specific border crossings, and the situation can change at anytime.

Open Border Crossings:

  • The land border with Armenia (Agarak) is open as of June 16, 2025.
  • Turkish land borders (Gürbulak, Kapiköy, Esendere) are also reported open for crossings.
  • Azerbaijan’s land borders remain officially closed, but a "humanitarian corridor" at the Astara crossing has allowed over 600 people of various nationalities to flee into Azerbaijan in recent days, with special authorization required for entry.

Closed Border Crossings:

  • All border crossings with Pakistan in Balochistan have been sealed indefinitely.
  • The major border crossing with Afghanistan (Islam Qala-Dogharoon) has been closed amid escalating conflict, with no clear timeline for reopening

If anyone has updated information on the current situation, please share.
