Cancun Costa Mujeres: early December or around Christmas?

Hi,

I am going to Costa Mujeres in December but I'm not sure which December-weeks to pick: early December or around Christmas.

I thought it might be fun to skip the festive season in northern Europe, which I most often experience as grim and gloomy., and spend it in the sun. On the other hand I'm worried about crowds. I most often find crowds very overstimulating, which takes away my peace and fun. I for example went to the south of France in August, and decided I would not do that anymore because of the crowds.

On Costa Mujeres I would stay in a quiet and secluded resort. But I would also like to visit some things, hence my concern for crowds.
(Not so much worried about the financial side, only about crowds).

What would be your advice: early or late December?

If you don't like crowds don't go there at Christmas, it is extremely touristy. Early December, you could choose another place to stay, Mahahual, Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Morelos. The earlier you can go, the better.
