Planning a trip to Baku in summer 2026 - have anyone tried Ohayu?
I like the idea of not having to register a local SIM card with my passport, but I'm not sure if I need 5 or 10 GB, and if data-only is fine.
They connect to Bakcell and Azercell networks - are these good? Is there any coverage beyond cities, like in the mountains?

eSIM is definitely a solid choice for a trip like that, no passport registration, no hunting down local SIM shops, and you can install it before you even leave home. Ohayu connects to Bakcell and Azercell, which are the two main networks in Azerbaijan and generally have good coverage in cities and most travel areas, but anywhere really remote or deep in the mountains can still be patchy, that’s true for most providers there.

If you’re unsure between 5 GB or 10 GB, think about how much you use data for maps, social media, and streaming, for light use 5 GB can be fine, but if you plan to upload photos/videos or use navigation a lot, 10 GB gives more peace of mind.
