In the early morning, fog appears and envelops the tea fields in the Kyonan Valley adjacent to Shizuoka.
The fog softens the sunlight and boosts layered flavors of tea. It is home to Nanbucha and the green tea
fields in the valley are a source of good quality teas. Nanbucha with sweet and mild umami and elegant
aroma offers classic sencha, black tea, and roasted tea stalks. This area at a low altitude of less than
150 meters is mild in climate, and has abundant rainfall and water streaming from the Fuji River basin,
suitable for tea production.

Tea plays a significant role in rural development, food security, important cash crops and
nature preservation in the world. Changes in temperature and rainfall patterns can impact
the growing season, flavor and health benefits as tea is mainly grown under rain-fed
monocropping systems. Increased temperatures could cause soils to dry and yields
seriously affected. According to the Japanese Agriculture Ministry, both the cultivation
area and production volume of tea are still on a downward trend.

Japanese tea gardens are the heart of Japan’s tea culture, producing some of the finest teas
in the world. The aspirant young tea farmers in Nanbu town have experimented over years
and have finally unveiled the ultimate luxury tea beverage brand "Kaino Kirameki."
It is crafted by very slow brewing at a low temperature selected first handpicked burgeons
of tea with spring water derived from the Southern Japanese Alps.
