Can you recommend budget accomodation in Pulau Penang?

I will be traveling to Pulau Penang, and I am looking for some budget accommodation. Any recommendations would be welcome.

Well, Penang is quite a large island. I have stayed in Georgetown several times. It is the main place where backpackers and Thailand visa runners stay.

Batu Ferringhi is also popular if you are looking for a beach style holiday. I think it depends on what you are planning to do there,
