Travel to France

Hi everyone, would love to hear from anyone who's travelled to France recently. Are the protests a problem? I'm travelling in early May and not sure if I should rethink due to protests

My sister went there earlier this year and even though I saw protests on the news every night, she didn't have any problems. I am sure it is contained in a certain area that should be easy enough to avoid.
